How do you know if you have a breech baby?
Will it be more difficult?
And among ways of giving birth, should we go for unassisted breech home birth?
What is breech birth?
Breech babies will sit with the head up and the bottom down. This situation happens with pregnancy in 37 to 40 weeks but the percentage is very small- only 3 to 5 %.
By that position, breech babies will come out with the bottom first then the head. The unusual process will harm the babies unless you get prepared carefully.
And because of few situations and high risk, expected mothers with breech babies are advised to have C-Section birth than natural delivery.
How did unassisted breech home birth happen?
Over the hospital, people now prefer to give birth at home commonly under the support of midwives. They will be unassisted in killing pains, medications or electrical equipment to deliver the baby.
There are many reasons to do that but the main one, in our opinion, is the avoidance of side effects by meds and hospitalized delivery service.
And in some cases, they don’t expect breech babies until they are on labor. At that time, there are two options possible: continue or transfer to hospitals.
Technically, giving birth to breech babies is as painful as common. It all depends on the pelvis, size of the babies and midwives’ job.
For example, if you have small babies and normal-sized vaginal to give birth naturally, continuing home birth is what usually advised as transferring can be risky for both the mother and the baby.
In that case, you should follow guidance and advice from midwives.
Should we choose it?
Unassisted breech home birth will be the best way to deliver the baby. But with all the pain and risk, should we choose it over the C-section?
Let’s consider the pros and cons of this method.
There’re, of course, many reasons why you should have home birth instead of going to the hospital. But we want to highlight some only.
The utmost reason must be relaxation to stay at home with all your beloved around. You don’t need parting from them but delivery the newborn in their support. There Are no hustle and bustle during your labor and delivery.
Sometimes, the hospital might give you forceps during the process as support. But, it’s not a health intervention.
More than that, with breech babies, hospitals will choose to give C-section automatically.
Without the support of advanced technologies must be the biggest obstacle for expectant mothers to choose home birth.
Despites of all risks, unassisted breech home birth is still a natural way to welcome your babies. However, you need to consider very carefully your physical and mental conditions as well as competent of your midwives (if you have one) before taking this way.
