A good mom would know the effective ways to help their baby have a great dream. When the baby has enough time to sleep, their mood is energetic and positive. So, what is the method to maintain these habits?
If your good and easy babies become fussy ones, and, they have some symptoms of waking up every thirty minutes, beginning from 2,a.m. It is believed about not enough satisfying and rejuvenating sleep which completely leads to mess up several things at night time.
The habits of lack of sleep and having poor sleep are harmful to babies as well as constant waking overnight. Ferber method, now, seems to be the best way for the baby’s sleep problem. At the first time to use it, it took some nights off, but after adequate periods, your kids turn into champion sleepers. They can fall asleep, and don’t get up until the morning.
About the Ferber method
Basing on the intention and theory of supporting babies to learn the way how to soothe themselves back to sleep. However, this method also gets many arguments and believers with other negative names as “Ferberizing” or “crying it out”.
According to scientific researches, both babies and adults have sleeping cycles, and every after sixty to ninety minutes, we can wake up during the sleeping process. The point is that most of the adults don’t realize this phenomenon and they have tended to fall back asleep right immediately. Nevertheless, the baby doesn’t control this activity. If you sleep with your baby, then he/she wants you when getting up at 2 a.m.
Therefore, the Ferber method premise is to make the babies calm and back to bed correctly at the time they wake up at midnight.
Doing the Ferber method
The first night
For the first time using the Ferber method on the baby, on the first night, your baby should be put into his crib while he/ she is still awake without a pacifier. Next, you can kiss him/her lightly to say goodnight and leave him/her alone in the room. It is certain to predict that he/she is going to cry out loud, that’s why in a few minutes, you can go back to check and reassure your kids by voice.
It is not suggested touching the baby, because it create more engagements between the mother and the baby which leads to awake him/her. Remember, not to stop the baby crying, only reassure him/her and yourself. He/she would cry more if you disappear from the room again. Let’s wait up to 5 minutes, then, go in again. After that, you’ll take a long time as 10 minutes and keep going with this duration until he/ she stops crying and falls asleep.
The other nights
After training for the first night, it’s time to make your baby familiar to the following nights. You wait longer, about 5 minutes, then, you’ll go in at ten minutes, next is 12, on the second night. On the third night, you could increase the waiting minutes up to 12, then 15 mins, and so on. It is recommended to train sleeps for naps. An expert in dealing with sleeping problems said that at bedtime you should conduct sleep training, because it will only work when you were also doing it as naps.
