Week 41 - Staying Comfortable for Your Big Day
Since your due date has passed, your doctor will perform another cervical exam to see if you have begun to efface and/or dilate. Although these don't necessarily mean that labor is imminent, they may give you some comfort to know that your body is beginning to move in that direction. Your doctor may discuss inducing you, although if you and your baby are still healthy and relatively comfortable, he or she may wait a little longer to see if nature will take its course. Staying comfortable and resting up for your big day are key for you this week. Continue to drink your 8 to 10 glasses of water a day, go for walks, and get plenty of sleep.
