My Pregnant Body - Week by Week PregnancyWeek 23 - Height of FundusYour body is beginning to prepare for the impending delivery of your baby! At your OB appointments your doctor will measure your fundal height. The fundus is the round upper portion of the uterus, and the height of the fundus refers to the distance between the fundus and your pelvic bone. This is a routine and accurate way of measuring the growth of your baby. You may also notice your belly contorting into strange shapes or protruding lopsidedly as your baby pushes, kicks, and presses against different parts of your uterus. As big as you may be feeling at this point, your baby still has enough room for lots of acrobatics. Friends and family will delight in feeling your baby kick if they touch your belly at just the right place at the right time.
