Week 20 - Pacing Yourself and Iron Needs

As your pregnancy progresses, you may find it harder to breathe. This is because your growing baby is pushing your internal organs against your lungs, limiting their capacity.

Be conscious of your breathing while you are exercising or just running errands and slow down if breathing becomes uncomfortable or if you feel dizzy or lightheaded.

This is also the time when many women develop anemia, so make sure you get enough iron, and take a vitamin supplement if necessary. Walking is a safe and effective form of exercise for most women during pregnancy, so walk as much as possible, making sure to breathe deeply and rest when you need to.
