The most beautiful thing we can experience is the mysterious. It is the source of all true art and science.

Earth and Air Meditation

Sit in your meditative position outdoors or in a well-ventilated room. Try to sit on some natural fiber or natural material, although it is not necessary, just beneficial.

Start to breathe deeply into your diaphragm and slowly breathe out. Close your eyes. Relax each muscle in your body and allow yourself to slip into a slow, deep rhythm of breathing.

As you inhale, imagine that you are breathing in molecules from the air around you and energy from the earth below you. You are like a sponge that absorbs all the energetic particles from the earth where you sit and the air around you. Feel each molecule absorb into every pore of your skin.

As you exhale, imagine there is a large balloon of light over your head. Breathe out and fill the balloon with all the energy you absorbed on the inhale. The balloon gets larger and larger, and brighter and brighter above your head.

Continue to breathe in and absorb all the molecules swimming around you, the essence of the earth and the air around you. As you breathe out, your balloon inflates and glows brighter.

As you come out of this meditation, you will feel energized yet relaxed, focused yet peaceful.

Incense

If you are going to use incense to create an environment for your meditation and yoga session, use only natural substances. Don't buy your typical boxed incense. Read the ingredients and be sure that there is nothing used that you can't identify. If it's being sold loosely, ask the vendor how it is made and what ingredients were used.
